A man who was shot to death last weekend in what apparently was a case of road rage has been identified as Jesse Garrison, 28, of Fort Worth.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled that Garrison died from a gunshot wound to his chest and his death was ruled a homicide.

Two motorists were westbound on East Maddox Avenue near Riverside Drive on late Friday when they both slowed, then sped up to merge into a single lane, police said.

After they pulled over on Milano Avenue, one of the drivers fired several shots at the the other motorist, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene about 11:40 p.m. Friday and found Garrison with a gunshot wound lying on a sidewalk.

Garrison was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he died at 12:12 a.m. Saturday in the emergency room, according to the medical examiner’s website.

No one has been arrested.
