GRACE officially launched its Tenth Annual GRACE Gala with an Auction Gifting Party May 7 hosted by Brio Tuscan Grille in Southlake.

About 100 gala supporters attended, each bringing a gift valued at $100 or more for the gala auctions.

Committee members said the Gala Auction Committee conducted the most successful Gala Gifting Party ever.

“This year’s launch party was fantastic, led by a great crew including our Gala chairs Sheri and Mike Mills as well as our gifting party chair Stacy Kristynik,” said Shonda Schaefer, executive director.

The GRACE Gala will be held at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas on Oct. 12.

“Our Gala has grown into the area’s most well-known black-tie event, and we are so blessed to be celebrating its tenth year,” Schaefer said.

The gala is the single, largest fund-raising event for the agency.

“I’m very proud that monies spent at the gala go to help our neighbors in need,” Schaefer said. “Our staff, volunteers and sponsors work to keep our costs down while finding new and exciting ways to lavish our guests in grand style.”

Among the many gifts received at the launch party was a baseball signed by basketball great Michael Jordan. The baseball and hundreds of other items will be up for auction at the GRACE Gala event.
