Luke Young finished in fourth place for Keller in the state 5A shot put competition at the championship meet in Austin last weekend.It wasn’t until Young’s fourth throw that he hit his 56’6” which put him just less than 3” ahead of the Brownsville Pace’s Hiram Morales.Young threw for 55’10.5” on his second throw.Lady Bobcats track and field athletes take 5th, 6th at stateTwo Byron Nelson athletes had solid showings at the recent Class 4A state meet in Austin.Leilyn Miles threw 41’05.5”on her first attempt and could not better the distance to finish in 5th place in the shot put.Nelson’s Rana Ryan ran a 2:15:98 and finished 6th in the girls 4A 800m event at the state track and field meet.Ryan had logged a 2:13:16 as her seed time from the regional meet. Her time at state was just .04 out of the fifth place slot.Northwest to host Granby wrestling campNorthwest will be hosting a Granby School of Wrestling camp, June 17-19. The Challenger Sports programs have camps geared for each age group, starting with one hour sessions for the 3-4 year old First Kicks classes, to full-day camps for the 7-16 year olds.The British Soccer Camps format provide players basic skills training and coached scrimmages.
