A 19-year-old woman died Saturday evening from injuries she sustained earlier in the day in a car crash in Fort Worth.

Perla Ojeda of Fort Worth was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

The wreck was reported at 5:15 p.m. at 5700 N. Beach St., police said.

Ojeda was driving northbound in a Chevrolet pickup when she lost control of the truck as it veered onto a grassy median, said Officer Daniel Segura, police spokesman.

The truck swerved to the right and struck another vehicle in the left rear, Segura said.

Next, the truck “veered to the left, striking a tree in the median,” Segura said.

A helicopter ambulance took Ojeda to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where she was pronounced dead at 8 p.m., Segura said.

No other details were available late Sunday.
