Faulkner University broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the sixth inning, then added five more in the seventh on the way to a 9-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan in the Montgomery, Ala., bracket of the NAIA Regional Baseball Championships on Saturday.

The victory forces a winner-take-all game set for 1 p.m. Monday.

Wesleyan (42-17) scored in the third inning when Trevor Moon hit a solo home run.

TCU roundup

• Women’s tennis: TCU beat North Texas 4-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tennis Championships in College Station.

Winning were the doubles teams of Millie Nichols-Olivia Smith and Monika Sirilova-Stefanie Tan, and Simona Parajova, Tan and Sirilova in singles. Kelsey Sundaram and Federica Denti were leading when the match was called.

TCU will play host Texas A&M at 1 p.m. Sunday.

• Women’s golf: TCU shot a 309 on Saturday and finished 15th with a 902 on the final day of the NCAA Central Regional in Norman, Okla.

With a team-high five birdies, Kortnie Maxoutopoulis led TCU on Saturday with a 75.

Maxoutopoulis and April McCoy were TCU’s top individual finishers, tying for 50th at 224.

Duke carded a 12-under 276 to finish atop the team standings with a 13-under 851, six strokes ahead of host Oklahoma.
