In these days of locked-in partisanship, when each tweezing detail is perceived as a winner or loser, four little words have gone missing.

They often ended respectful conversations as a complete sentence. They often started alternative suggestions, or even sincere and thoughtful questions, but they’ve fallen from use.

When good and great compromises came to fruition between true patriots, from either side of the aisle, great pains were spent ensuring a liberal sprinkling of their soothing, always-pleasing, and even melodic use. It’s as if they’ve been banned, and more’s the pity for it.

Whatever happened to: You may be right?
