I’m astounded at the callous, money-driven focus of two Carroll school board candidates, James Palazzo and Sam Torolopoulos.

Specifically referencing the Sandy Hook tragedy, I asked them a question at the Southlake SPIN candidate forum whether they would advocate increasing revenue to respond to a serious safety and security issue facing our children, and they said no. What good is a lower tax rate if our children are not safe?

When did being “fiscally conservative” mean we are willing to sacrifice our children’s safety and security for a few extra dollars in our pocket? I am a Reagan Republican and feel we need reasonable, solution-focused candidates who will invest wisely when necessary.
