The Sooner South wrestling camp will be hosted at the Carroll High School wrestling facility this summer, June 10-13.The camp is highlighted and conducted by 2012 US Olympic wrestler Sam Hazewinkle and Oklahoma University assistant coach Michael Lightner. The camp is for incoming 5th graders - high school seniors and will have a 60-wrestler limit.Hazewinkle, in addition to competing in the London Olympics, was a four-time All-American at Oklahoma and an NCAA finalist.Lightner was a national champion for the Sooners in 2001, a four-time All-American and four-time Big 12 champion.Carroll head wrestling coach Joe Hathaway is the camp director.The camp will be conducted at the Carroll wrestling facility at 800 White Chapel Blvd each day from noon-5 pm. Registration is $200 by May 10 and can be done online at: www.oklahomawrestlingcamp.eventbrite.com.Multiple family member and need-based scholarships are available.Colleyville girls lacrosse finishes fourth in divisionThe Colleyville High School girls varsity lacrosse team finished as the fourth seed in Division II and won their initial playoff against Trinity. That was the team’s first win over Trinity in its five year history.Their season ended in the district championships with a loss to McKinney.Colleyville ends with a 3-3 district mark and a 4-5 record overall.Emily Bodish, a senior who predominantly played attack, was named to the Texas High School Girls Lacrosse League All-State Division II Team. Only 12 girls from the district are named to the All-State D II team and is voted on by district coaches.Bodish will receive her award during the state championships hosted by Southlake this weekend.Carroll ISD athletic physicalsAthletic physicals for those planning to participate in the Carroll athletic programs for next year are available on May 15 from 5-5:30 p.m. at All-Star Orthopaedics, offices, 910 E.
