A woman found dead Saturday in northern Hill County has been identified as Kasie Clary of Hillsboro, her mother said Monday.

Clary, 23, was last seen in the Hillsboro area at a softball game on April 28, according to KXXV-TV 25. Her car was found in the parking lot of a Hillsboro apartment complex and she was reported missing on April 29.

Responding to a report of a possible deceased person, deputies found the body of a woman who had appeared to have been in place “for an extended period of time.”

On Sunday, Allison Clary was notified that the victim was identified as her missing daughter.

“I'm so very sad I can't even begin to express the anguish and depth of loss I feel,” Allison Clary said Monday. “But I'm also angry as I've ever been in my life and I will not rest until the person/persons responsible have been brought to justice.”

Deputies with the Hill County Sheriff’s Office including Sheriff Michael Cox and Hillsboro police processed the scene, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Authorities did not provide any details of the scene.

But the news released noted that a crime scene technician and a crime scene trailer were dispatched.

Justice of the Peace Charles Jones of Hill County ruled that a cause of death could not be determined at the scene. The body was sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas for an autopsy.
