Two victims of a fiery weekend crash on Jacksboro Highway were identified Wednesday by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Lillie Smith, 79, and Walter King, 15, were headed to a church event when the vehicle they were in collided with a minivan and then exploded, police said.

One other person who has not been identified was also killed, police reported.

The driver of the vehicle, which was destroyed, and a front-seat passenger escaped the fiery crash.

Police responded to the wreck shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday at Jacksboro Highway and Hanger Cutoff Road near the Fort Worth Nature Center in far northwest Fort Worth.

The vehicle was northbound on Jacksboro Highway when it collided with the minivan, which was headed west on Hanger Cutoff Road. The two people in the minivan were not seriously injured, police said.
