Perry and Cartoon

I, like Gov. Perry, mourn the loss of exemplary citizens, fathers, husbands, sons and brothers in the West disaster. I, too, have made donations to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and other nonprofits in an attempt to help alleviate the suffering of the victims in the disaster. I, too, continue to pray for families and friends of the victims and the citizens of West.

However, Perry’s outrageous response to a cartoon in The Sacramento Bee was hypocritical. It is the lax regulatory climate of this state that is championed by Perry that may have led to this grievous disaster, the same heinous regulatory policies that he championed in his visit to California for “Y’all come to Texas!”

My advice to Perry: If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the governor’s office.
