Local election season underway in North Texas

Early voting kicked off Monday in city, school and other races throughout Tarrant County and Texas.

Contested races on the May 11 ballot include Arlington mayor, four City Council seats in Fort Worth and three in Arlington, two Fort Worth school trustee posts and the Tarrant Regional Water District.

There are dozens of early voting locations across the region, including the Tarrant County Elections Center, 2700 Premier St. To see a full list of sites in Tarrant, Denton and Parker counties — including addresses and hours — visit the PoliTex blog.

Early voting ends May 7.

Written applications for mail-in ballots are being accepted through May 3. Voters who have received a mail-in ballot must return it to the elections office no later than May 11.
