The Martin baseball team won District 3-5A for the second year running, once again posting a perfect record in district competition (14-0, 26-6-1 overall). And like last year, the Arlington ISD teams to accompany the Warriors into the postseason will be Lamar and Bowie.

Martin draws Keller, the fourth seed from District 4-5A, in the bi-district round of the playoffs, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Keller. Game 2 will be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Martin, and if necessary, Game 3 will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday at a location to be determined. Keller went 19-10 over the regular season and 8-6 in its district.

Playoff series for Bowie and Lamar had not been announced at the press deadline.

District 3-5A faired poorly in bi-district softball action, with Martin and Bowie going winless and each mustering just one run in their respective series against Southlake Carroll and Keller.

Carroll won 11-1 and 11-0 against Martin last Friday, while Keller defeated Bowie in consecutive games as well, 14-0 and 17-1.

The district's other two representatives had it no better, with No. 1 seed Weatherford getting knocked out in a one-gamer against Justin Northwest and North Crowley losing a one-game bi-district round to Richland.
