Ryan Walker, Darien McLemore and Travis Sibley each had four hits for the UT Arlington Mavericks, who rallied twice from multiple-run deficits to beat the New Mexico State Aggies 13-11 on Sunday at Presley Askew Field.

Seven Mavericks had at least one RBI, and eight UTA hitters scored at least one run. Chase Weaver (3-1) picked up the win after working four innings of relief.

UTA (24-20, 12-6 WAC) trailed 4-0 and 7-4 after the second and fourth innings, respectively, but responded each time to tie the game in the third and take the lead for good in the fifth.

The Mavericks, tied with CSU Bakersfield atop the WAC standings, have won four of six league series after taking two of three from New Mexico State and after playing seven of their last eight games on the road during the last week and a half.

“Great weekend considering everything we’ve been through the last 10 days,” UTA coach Darin Thomas said. “From Seattle to Hunstville to Las Cruces, I thought our guys handled it with maturity and played with the most effort of the 10 days the last day.

“We needed every bit of it. [Las Cruces is] a tough place to play. Taking two out of three on the road after a long 10 days is big for us.”
