FORT WORTH -- After an hours-long standoff, officers used a Taser Wednesday afternoon to subdue a man barricaded in an attic of an apartment complex on the south side, police reported.

Officers including SWAT team members and negotiators descended on the small complex in the 2600 block of South Jennings Avenue.

Several canisters of tear gas were deployed to try to get the man to surrender.

He was being sought on a warrant for assault.

About 4:50 p.m., police used explosives to break down a back down and sent in a robot.

About 6:30 p.m., officers subdued the man and he was later loaded into a squad car.
