The presidential election is exciting, but it is our local elections where voters have the greatest impact.

In May, we do not vote for Democrats or Republicans. We vote for fellow citizens who volunteer to serve our community.

Since they are local, we can personally attend meetings with these officials to voice our concerns and complaints, and make suggestions for decisions they will make that have a direct impact on our schools and municipalities.

This year, two candidates are running for the Mansfield school board in Place 5. Karen Marcucci has a heart to serve all the children within our diverse community. She is intelligent and educated and has children attending Mansfield schools.

Her opponent wanted to drop out but missed the withdrawal deadline; therefore, her name is still on the ballot, and if elected, she could choose to serve.

Please vote for Marcucci, the best trustee for our children.
