About the Blue Jackets: Columbus had the NHL’s fewest points (65) last season but is on the brink of their second postseason appearance ever. ... With one game left after Dallas, the Blue Jackets currently sit in ninth place, one point behind Detroit for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, and three ahead of the Stars, who are in 10th. ... They have won six of seven games and Thursday is the finale of a six-game road trip in which Columbus has gone 4-1. ...
