The MISD Board of Trustees is asking for your input. We are in the process of fine-tuning our district direction to help us create a superintendent profile for our next superintendent. To assist us, we need your help. This process involves scheduling community forums and an online survey.

David Baldner, a Cambridge Services representative, is our facilitator. We selected David because of Cambridge’s guidance in developing our recent strategic plan and their knowledge of our district.

If you navigate to the MISD website,, the Community Input and Superintendent Profile Development Process link will be displayed. By clicking into this link, a list of the upcoming community forums with dates and times are listed – Monday, April 29, from 7-9 p.m. at Alice Ponder Elementary School (102 Pleasant Ridge Drive) and Tuesday, April 30, from 7-9 p.m. at Danny Jones Middle School (4500 E. Broad St.). The forums are structured around three sections: Keep/Start/Stop. The forums will be open discussion; the facilitator will ask you what initiatives and programs you’d like to see MISD Keep/Start/Stop. Then, the facilitator will drill into why you selected a particular category for one of our initiatives or programs. At the end of the session, David will ask for your input on characteristics that you want from your next superintendent.

The online survey will be available Friday, April 19, and will mirror the forums’ Keep/Start/Stop and leadership qualities by using open-ended questions. We are asking for specific comments from you about your ideas, concerns, challenges and successes in relation to district initiatives and programs. The survey will close Friday, May 3.

We have a great district and I’ve been honored to serve it in many volunteer capacities. And we stay a great district by coming together and discussing our challenges and successes.

Thanks for being part of our community and please participate in this process by attending a community forum and/or completing a survey

Beth Light

Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees President
