About the Canucks: Vancouver is 5-1-1 in its past seven games after losing a 2-1 shootout in St. Louis on Tuesday in a game that marked the 600th career coaching victory for Blues coach, and former Stars coach, Ken Hitchcock. ... Goalie Brian Elliott stopped 35 shots by St. Louis but gave up the deciding point in the shootout to Alexander Steen, the Blues’ final shooter. ... Vancouver completed a stretch of three games in four nights and Thursday is the final of five straight road games.

About the Stars: Dallas last played Monday, losing 5-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks and snapping the Stars’ five-game winning streak. ... Goalie Kari Lehtonen is expected in goal after missing the past three games with a groin injury. ... Forward Reilly Smith was recalled from the Texas Stars on Tuesday. The Toronto native has 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) in 45 games with the AHL Stars. ... With 45 points, the Stars are four points behind Columbus for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Dallas has six games remaining, including the final two at home against Columbus and Detroit. Gametime for the Red Wings regular-season finale at the AAC has been changed to 6 p.m. April 27 to be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network.
