A former Garland High School teacher has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for videotaping two of his students having sex and receiving pornographic images of one of the girls.

The 40-year-old also videotaped himself having sex with one of his students.

Federal agents identified the man as Willis Bassham, formerly of McKinney, who had pleaded guilty in December to a federal charge of possession of child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn sentenced Bassham Friday afternoon in a Dallas federal courtroom. Along with the prison sentence, Bassham will be on supervision for the rest of his life after his release.

Bassham admitted to federal agents that he had sexual relationships with three juvenile female students at the school, according to federal court documents. In addition, the former teacher told officials that he videotaped two of the girls engaging in sexual acts.

On his cell phone, Bassham had videos of himself and one of the girls having sex, federal agents said.

He also received pornographic photos of one of the girls by copying the images from the girl's cell phone, according to the documents.
