A Millsap man has died from injuries he suffered Saturday morning after being struck by an all-terrain vehicle and then hitting his head on a driveway, authorities said Sunday.

The victim was identified as Clovis Counts, 81. He died from head injuries at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon. Counts' death was ruled an accident, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's website on Sunday.

The accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Fairview Road in Millsap in Parker County at Counts' home.

A female family member got on the ATV and believed it was in "drive," said Danie Huffman, spokeswoman for the Parker County Sheriff's Department. When she hit the pedal, the vehicle went into reverse and struck Counts, who was knocked to the driveway.

No charges are expected to be filed in the case, authorities said.
