Preston Morrison tossed his second career complete game to lead TCU to a 4-1 victory over San Francisco on Friday night at Lupton Stadium.Morrison (5-1) allowed a run on three hits, walking one and striking out four with one hit batter. He allowed just one base runner to advance past second base — on Bradley Zimmer’s solo home run to lead off the seventh inning — and retired the side in order in six of the innings he pitched.Morrison’s complete game was the first by a TCU pitcher this season.TCU (14-16) went ahead in the first inning as Cody Jones dumped a single into right field and moved to third on a hit-and-run from Boomer White. A balk by Dons starting pitcher Haden Hinkle (6-1) gifted the Frogs their first run.Morrison’s first real jam of the game came in the fourth after a one-out base hit and a walk put two on for San Francisco. Doing what he does best, Morrison got Zachary Turner to ground into an inning-ending double play, preserving the 1-0 lead.Kevin Cron led off the fourth with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice. Jerrick Suiter then singled and advanced to second on a throw to home that held Cron at third, but Keaton Jones followed with a single that sent both runners home to pad TCU’s lead to 3-0.After Zimmer’s homer, TCU responded as White doubled with one out and scored on a two-out single from Paul Hendrix.Morrison retired the final seven batters he faced to finish the game.
