The footwear staple of your warm-weather wardrobe, sandals will take you right through spring into summer. But with all the styles in stores each year, it can be quite the task deciding which to buy and which to skip.

After combing the masses of sandals in departments stores and local shoe shops, we found a selection of the hottest pairs to fit anyone's budget. With all the guesswork taken out, the hardest job you'll have is figuring out if you should buy them all. And as any good fashionista would, we say yes.

Mix it up

Spring's most playful trend, mixed-material sandals give wearers the chance to have a little fun and get a little loud with their shoe choices. (Floral and patent leather, anyone?) Just remember, when wearing the bold trend on your feet, keep everything else simple. You don't want your clothing to compete with your shoes. 9 & Co. Abrielle 2 floral wedge sandals, $35, J.C. Penney.

Heavy on metals

Metal is in, and we're not talking music. Sandals with accents in gold or silver, like these wedges by Stuart Weitzman, are the perfect way to give your warm-weather ensemble a little edge and shine. Stuart Weitzman Metalmania in Gold Roman Mail, $425, Stanley Eisenman Fine Shoes.

Dream weaver

Designers like Givenchy and Brian Atwood were head over heels for woven-leather sandals for spring and summer, and we think you should be, too. We suggest opting for an eye-catching pair like this Coach one, with a multicolored basket-weave pattern. Gemma Wedge in Silver, $298, Coach.

Keep it simple

Looking for a sandal that will never go out of style? Then look no further than the T-strap. A great dupe for DV by Dolce Vita's Archer, these Mossimo striped sandals are a fashion steal. Mossimo Falk Thong Sandal in multicolor, $19.99, Target.

Snake charmer

From shoe maven Nicholas Kirkwood to fashion label Marni, designers are proving that you don't have to be a fan of snakes to love the metallic snakeskin trend for spring and summer. Perfect for pairing with a white sundress or white skinnies, Donald J Pliner silver metallic snakeskin wedges are chic and bold. Malery Kid Leather Wedge Sandal in Silver Smooth Metallic, $260, Stanley Eisenman Fine Shoes.

Bugging out

While the thought of ladybugs on sandals might conjure ideas of juvenile footwear, Talbots proves that they can be fashionable for the more mature demographic. Both charming and whimsical, this patent-leather pair is sure to put a smile on your face every time. Farah Ladybug Slide in Poppy and Cucumber, $89.50, Talbots.
