A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter after a fatal two-vehicle wreck in Arlington, police say.

Carlos Cruz of Grand Prairie was in the Arlington City Jail on Friday morning, said Tiara Richard, an Arlington police spokeswoman.

Officers responded to the wreck about 10 p.m. Thursday at Pioneer Parkway and Watson Road.

Police believe Cruz was driving a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis east on Pioneer Parkway when it struck a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was going north on Watson, Richard said.

The driver of the Trailblazer, believed to be 60 years old, was taken to Medical Center of Arlington, where he died a short time later, she said.

His name was not released Friday morning because authorities were still notifying his family.
