An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect in three sexual assaults in the Lake Highlands area since February, Dallas police said Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Cesar Benitez, was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Benitez confessed that he attacked the women, and a palm print found at one crime scene matched his prints, police said.

He provided a DNA sample, which was still being analyzed, police said.

Benitez remained in the Dallas County Jail on Wednesday facing two sexual assault charges and one charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault. Bail was set at $4.5 million.

On March 25, police got a tip about a man who resembled one of the composite sketches released by police on March 22, according to a news release. Detectives worked up leads on the man's residence and the type of vehicle he drove. About 1 p.m. Tuesday, patrol officers spotted the vehicle driving southbound on North Central Expressway and tried to pull him over. He took the Walnut Hill Lane exit and drove to a business parking lot where he got out and ran. He was arrested after a brief chase on foot, police said.

The sexual assaults occurred Feb. 22, March 15 and March 19 in the Lake Highlands area of northeast Dallas.
