Are you a Hudson Oaks resident? Are you looking for a way to get more involved in your community? If so, the answer may be the Hudson Oaks Planning and Zoning Commission.Each spring, the City of Hudson Oaks accepts applications from residents interested in serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission. There are seven members of the Commission, serving two-year, staggered terms. This year, three Commission seats are up for appointment. The City of Hudson Oaks Planning and Zoning Commission is charged with the following duties:• Identify community needs and to advise the City Council of short term and long term implications for the orderly development of the city;• Recommend achievable community goals as a basis for long range planning and development programs;• Recommend plans, programs and policies that will aid the entire community in achieving its defined goals; and• Interpret the adopted plans and programs to concerned citizens so that private activities and desires may be accomplished in harmony with public needs and policies.This simply means that P&Z Commissioners get to help shape the future of the Hudson Oaks community.
