A career night for Trey Teakell helped top UT Pan American 9-5 on Tuesday at Lupton Stadium.Teakell (1-0), making his first start since March 12, threw a career-high seven innings and three strikeouts while allowing just one run on four hits to go with one walk. He also retired the last eight batters he faced.Boomer White drove in a career-high three runs in the game, and Paul Hendrix and Derek Odell each chipped in a pair of RBIs.TCU (12-16) opened the scoring in the first inning, taking advantage of a pair of walks to Cody Jones and Paul Hendrix. Derek Odell lined a single into right-center to drive in Jones for a 1-0 lead.In the second, Teakell pitched around a leadoff double, but he wouldn’t escape a triple by Jacob Huckabay to open the fourth. Pan American (9-22) tied the game on a base hit by Bryan Ramirez.The Horned Frogs regained the lead in the bottom of the inning when White lined a pitch just inside the third-base line for a bases-clearing double to put TCU up 4-1.The Frogs added a run in the fifth on a Jerrick Suiter sacrifice fly and then put up four in the sixth, when Hendrix singled with the bases loaded followed by a balk and an Odell single to cap TCU’s scoring.The Broncs pushed across four runs on five hits off of TCU reliever Tejay Antone in the eighth, but Travis Evans came on to retire the only two batters he faced to get the Frogs out of the jam. Riley Ferrell struck out the side to close the game in the ninth.TCU faces Pan American again at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Trevor Seidenberger (1-1) making his sixth start of the year.
