The Colleyville Heritage boys soccer team went into Tuesday’s game with L.D. Bell with the hopes of a playoff appearance riding on a win or loss by Irving. The game was played after the print deadline.After a 4-0 loss at R.L. Turner, Heritage had 13 points in the district standings with a district mark of 3-6-4.Irving was two points back, with 11, and a record of 2-5-5.With a win, Irving would pick up 3 points and jump to 14, forcing a win by the Panthers to keep their lead over Irving and a fourth place finish in District 6-5A.Irving had beaten their Tuesday opponent, McArthur, 4-1 earlier in the season. Turner on Friday night with a six-run sixth inning to shut the door and end the game with a 10-0 win.The Mustangs, 13-6, 4-0 in district, were paced by doubles by Satchel Goodwin, Zach Kornely and David Fry.Heritage picked up their third win in district play with an 11-3 win over Irving at Panthers Field.The Panthers are now 3-1 in district and 10-8 overall.Heritage’s Cody Thomas, Matt Barke and Preston Palmeiro all had doubles, with Palmeiro also adding a triple.Colleyville lacrosse updateThe Colleyville lacrosse team was in action over the weekend at the Huntsville Tournament at Sam Houston State, but results were unavailable at the press deadline.They were hosting Plano on Tuesday at Heritage Middle School and will travel to McKinney on Saturday.April 5 will be Senior Night, when they host Paschal.
