Arlington police are investigating the shooting death of a man at a residence in south Arlington.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 4700 block of Shadyway Drive, police said. After they arrived, they found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

A vehicle seen leaving the residence was followed and stopped at Interstate 20 and Matlock Road, police said. A man inside that vehicle had a gunshot wound to the leg. A female occupant had a cut on her head, police said.

The man and woman are believed to be residents of the home where the shooting occurred, police said. They were arrested for outstanding warrants.

Detectives are talking to witnesses to determine whether robbery was a possible motive, police said.

"Detectives believe they have identified the person who shot the deceased man, but are still trying to determine if there are any others involved and whether the shooting was justified," said Tiara Richard, a police spokeswoman.
