It seems to me that politics, fiscal blindness (and other attitudes I won't mention) get more attention than common sense.

No doubt the Como Community Center has been facing the many problems discussed in Tuesday's Star-Telegram for a long time. The fact that it is built over a stream seems not to have received much attention. (See: "Deferred parks projects vie for bond issue funding")

City Council, please do something for the Como Community Center today! The conditions described in the newspaper are the only facts needed, and no vote should be delayed.
