GRAPEVINE -- A 25-year-old former teacher and assistant choir director at Colleyville Heritage High School was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of having an improper relationship with a 16-year-old male student.
Cody Ray Dickson of Bedford was arrested by Grapevine police on suspicion of an improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second-degree felony, and online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony. His bail was set at $10,000 for the improper relationship charge and $5,000 for the online solicitation charge.The Grapevine-Colleyville school district placed Dickson on leave last Friday and he resigned from the district on Wednesday.Police said that Dickson solicited a 16-year-old student and that there was an exchange of text messages of a sexual nature and "inappropriate nude images" between the two.Principal Joe Harrington alerted choir parents about the case in a letter dated Sunday."While state and federal privacy laws prevent district personnel from publicly discussing details about these allegations or the persons involved, please be assured that we are cooperating fully with the police," Harrington said in Sunday's letter.Another letter from Harrington was sent home to parents on Wednesday, explaining that Dickson had been arrested and had resigned.Bill Hanna, 817-390-7698Twitter: @fwhannaHave more to add?
