GRAPEVINE _ A Colleyville Heritage High School music teacher is under investigation for an alleged improper relationship with a student, Grapevine police said.

"Right now, all that we can confirm is that we have a teacher under investigation," Grapevine Police Sgt. Robert Eberling said.

No arrest had been made in the case as of Tuesday morning.

The teacher, whose name wasn't released by police, was placed on leave on March 15 by the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, the school district reported in a statement. The move came after Grapevine police alerted the district that the teacher was being investigated for having an "improper relationship between an educator and a student."

The teacher will be on leave from the district during the course of the investigation. He served as a music teacher and assistant choir director at the high school, the district stated.

Principal Joe Harrington alerted choir parents about the case in a letter dated March 17.

"While state and federal privacy laws prevent district personnel from publicly discussing details about these allegations or the persons involved, please be assured that we are cooperating fully with the police," Harrington wrote.
