Haslet continues to make preparations for an Amazon.com distribution center on Westport Parkway.

The city council at its March 4 meeting approved 14 easements that deal with the Amazon site.

The easements consist of five right-of-way dedications, four public utility easements, two water easements, two drainage easements and one sanitary sewer easement.

Mayor Bob Golden said these easements would typically have been included on the plat submittals, which were done in November.

“But, Hillwood prefers to handle these on separate documents so we agreed to that,” Golden said. Hillwood is the developer of the project in the AllianceTexas development.

Also, the Council approved a project for its application for the 39th Year Community Development Block Grant.

The federal grant-funded project would replace an old asbestos cement waterline with 1,700 linear feet of 12-inch PVC waterline.

Golden said this new feeder line with provide increased capacity in the distribution system for drinkable water service and fire flow to the Brentwood Estates Subdivision.

“This will be the first year of a multiyear phased program to upgrade the infrastructure in the subdivision,” Golden said.
