Former Colleyville resident Victor T. Foia has launched his first book, Dracula Chronicles – Son of the Dragon, and the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce has snagged him for its next speaker at its monthly member luncheon.
The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. May 2 at the Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Dr. in Colleyville.Born in Transylvania, Foia’s interest in Dracula began at age six when he first visited the birthplace of what could be considered one of the most recognizable men in the world. That visit sparked an interest and passion that would last until today. After escaping from the Iron Curtain at age 22, Foia defected to Italy where after months in U.N. refugee camps, he immigrated to the United States. Once here, he graduated from the University of Illinois and the University of Dallas, which led him into a life as an international corporate executive. Today, Foia is a full-time writer of historical fiction.Foia spent four decades researching Dracula. His book unfolds vivid details about how Dracula transformed from a prince to the ruthless king that led to the legendary vampire stories. This is his first book in a multi-volume novel. The second book, Dracula Chronicles – House of the Crescent Moon, is due out in December.Adding to the excitement is that the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free book signing cocktail party for the author.
