A Grapevine police officer was treated for injuries at a hospital early Friday after another motorist drove into the back of his patrol car on Texas 121, a police spokesman said.
The driver, identified as Mallory May Ford, 20, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. A breath test showed that Ford had a blood-alcohol level of 0.16, twice the legal limit, police said.She will not be charged with intoxication assault, police said, because the officer did not suffer serious bodily injury.The officer, whose name was not released, was helping a driver who ran out of gas on a stretch of highway with no shoulders, police said. The officer activated his emergency lights and positioned his car behind the stranded vehicle.A Toyota Avalon struck the patrol car about 2:15 a.m., police said.
