Where is your righteous-indignation editorial on the closing of the White House? (See: "Blaming sequester, White House cancels public tours," March 8 online)

This is without a doubt the most immature act preformed by a sitting president since we heard "I did not have sex with that woman."

The White House is first a national treasure and second a government-run home provided to the sitting president, at considerable taxpayer expense, that the president may enjoy the privilege of a suitable residence for state dinners and receptions for heads of state and for the conducting the affairs of state, while providing for his and his family's security. The president is a limited-term tenant of the residence and not the owner or operator of the residence.

The supposed savings gained through closing are simply not occurring, as all employees of the White House tours are still getting paid. I am ashamed for our nation.
