The culture at American Airlines must change for the merger with US Airways to be 100 percent successful.

The current American Airlines culture of interdepartmental competition, instead of interdepartmental cooperation, is one of the major reasons for AA's decline.

The carrier had been warned for years about this, but poor management and its practices were not to be overcome. I hope they get the message this time.
