More than 700 cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles from at least 30 manufacturers go on display starting today at the DFW Auto Show at the Dallas Convention Center.

The planned lineup includes the Ford F-150 Atlas concept truck, considered a preview of the popular truck's 2015 version, Chevrolet's special-edition Hot Wheels Camaro, based on one of the original toy cars, and Acura's MDX prototype of an SUV to be built in Alabama.

A number of 2014 models are scheduled for the show, including Jeep's redesigned Grand Cherokee and Subaru's redesigned Forester, both SUVs, and Kia's Cadenza, its entry into the larger luxury segment.

There are also 2014 models from Acura, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Jaguar, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Ram Trucks

The show, which runs through Sunday, isn't all-look-and-no-touch. Drivers can take test spins in offerings from Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Mazda, Kia and Subaru.

For just looking, however, there are $100,000-plus models from Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati and Rolls-Royce.

"This is where 'look and compare' come into play," said Don Herring Jr., chairman of the show, sponsored by the Dallas Fort Worth Metropolitan New Car Dealers Association, made up of dealers in 11 North Texas counties.

At scheduled times from Friday through Sunday, cast members from the Lizard Lick Towing reality series on truTV will be on hand to sign autographs. The exact times and other show details are available at www.dallasautoshow.com.
