An Arlington man shot to death Friday morning during what police say was a domestic incident has been identified as Patrick Burgos, who had worked as a teacher and coach at a Garland middle school, authorities said Monday.
Burgos, 42, was pronounced dead at 2:42 a.m. Friday at his home in the 7200 block of Lake Whitney Drive in Arlington.A ruling on his death is pending, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's website on Monday.His wife, Vnessa Burgos, 36, a nurse, has been accused in the shooting and remained in the Arlington Jail on Monday in lieu of $100,000 bail.Arlington police and paramedics were called to the home about 2 a.m. Friday and found Patrick Burgos shot several times.Detectives learned that Vnessa Burgos and her daughter -- who was Patrick Burgos' stepdaughter -- were home at the time of the shooting Friday.After the shooting, Vnessa Burgos and her daughter contacted other family members, who called 911.Vnessa Burgos was booked into jail shortly before 8 a.m. Friday after detectives talked to the daughter and other family members.Patrick Burgos was a sixth-grade social studies teacher at Sellers Middle School in the Garland school district, according to the district's website.
