It's unfortunate that the Star-Telegram chose to publish on its Feb. 23 front page an article with inaccurate statements about the F-35 program.

Programs shift and change over time, and it was wholly unfair to state that Lockheed Martin "failed to deliver on the most basic promise of delivering a 3-in-1 jet."

Building such a jet would have cost taxpayers much more and would have delayed production.

We should stand behind Lockheed Martin, which does so much for our community and country at large, instead of printing garbage that could cause citizens undue stress and worry about where their tax dollars go.
