A woman was arrested early Friday on suspicion of killing her husband at a home in southeast Arlington.

Vnessa Burgos, 36, was in the Arlington jail Friday afternoon, facing one charge of murder, according to jail records. No bond had been set as of 2:30 p.m.

Her husband's name was not available because other family members had not yet been notified, said Tiara Ellis Richard, police spokeswoman. He was said to be in his 40s.

Few details were available Friday afternoon, but Richard said the shooting was believed to have resulted from a "domestic incident."

Police and paramedics were called at about 2 a.m. to the home in the 7200 block of Lake Whitney Drive. The man had apparently been shot several times, police said.

"Detectives have learned that the man's wife and his teenage stepdaughter were both home at the time of the incident," Richard said in a news release. "They called family members, who in turn called 911 to report the incident."

Burgos was arrested after detectives compared statements from witnesses and other family members, Richard said.
