Garlon Green can barely believe it’s that time. Time for his TCU career to come to an end. In some ways it feels as if it just began. In others, it feels like he’s been here for a lifetime.

When the losses mount, as they have for Green and the three other seniors — Nate Butler Lind, Adrick McKinney and Connell Crossland — a season can feel as if it’s never going to end.

For these seniors, who will say goodbye before their final regular-season home game at 4 p.m. Saturday against Oklahoma (20-9, 11-6 Big 12) at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, it may feel like a burden is being lifted off their shoulders.

“For the most part they’ve done a decent job this season,” TCU coach Trent Johnson said. “It’s unfortunate for them that we’ve had three injuries that forced them to play different roles.”

It’s been a disappointing final season for Green and the seniors, who last year helped the Frogs earn their first postseason appearance in seven years.

A new league and season-ending injuries to three key players was too much for the Frogs (10-20, 1-16), who are trying win their first home finale since 2007. Green, who is set to graduate in May, takes the long view.

“We’re competitors and we still need to try to fix things,” he said. “Sometimes things don’t work out like you want them to. That’s life. Things don’t always go your way. What’s the point of feeling sorry for yourself?”

It will be Green’s 128th game for the Frogs, the most in school history. He’ll finish his TCU career with the fifth-most minutes played, doing it under two coaches and, at times, a revolving door of Europeans, junior college transfers and wide-eyed freshmen.

“It feels like it went by so fast,” said Green, who will play in his 109th consecutive game today. “I remember the first interview with [the Star-Telegram]. It’s crazy it’s gone by really fast. It’s kind of weird. I kind of wish I would have played a little better; maybe I would have done some more things. In my head it’ll be an emotional thing but I won’t show it.”
