Thunderstorms will likely rumble through North Texas this weekend with the arrival of a cold front and upper level storm system.
The system is expected to arrive in Tarrant County on Saturday evening and could bring up to an inch of rain to the area, said Joe Harris, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.The front also should lower temperatures from a high of around 70 Saturday to 58 on Sunday. The weather service put the chances of storms Saturday evening at 80 percent."It will most likely be a line of storms that moves through in the early evening," Harris said.The system could include isolated spots of severe weather but the greater chances will occur in areas south and southwest of Tarrant County, he said.Commuters may see some rain during their afternoon commutes Friday but no storms are expected, he said. The high Friday is expected to be around 65 with a 40 percent chance of rain after noon. Overnight, there is a 20 percent chance of rain.By Sunday, the skies should start to clear.North Texans should probably get used to this weather pattern, which Harris called the "March see-saw.""Basically, we warm up, a front moves in, we get rain and it cools down," he said.
