To me as an Air Force veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Vietnam (which cost me 90 percent of my eyesight), it is unseemly to place the Pentagon's new cyber warrior medal ahead of the Bronze Star in precedence and importance.

However valuable their service, these remote warriors risk no physical dangers and often go home at night to dinner with their families.

A medal honoring wartime service should be earned in actual warfare.
