FORT WORTH -- Troubles continue to mount for a former Arlington Heights High School teacher as prosecutors filed a second charge of indecency with a child against him Tuesday involving a second teenage student.

Chad Hawkins, once a former Texas Rangers baseball prospect, was arrested Friday on a warrant in the new case.

In addition, he is being held in the Tarrant County Jail without bail on a warrant issued late last month after he cut off his ankle monitor while free on bail on the first charge, court records show.

Hawkins, who had been a history teacher and assistant boys basketball and baseball coach, was initially accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl who had been a student in his history class, court documents state.

The second case involves allegations that Hawkins engaged in improper contact with another 16-year-old student in a vehicle off campus, said Sgt. Kelly Peel, a Fort Worth police spokesman.
