Fifteen hourly workers have been laid off from Bell Helicopter operations in Tarrant County, but all but two of the employees have found other jobs within the company, Bell officials said.

The layoffs on Friday affected dispatchers and experimental and electrical assemblers, and were included in a factory "surplus" list, a union official said.

Gary Livingston, former president of UAW-218, said Bell has had relatively few layoffs in recent years.

"We've had some small ones,'' Livingston said. "This is probably the largest one we've had in a good while."

Bell has about 11,000 employees in Tarrant County.
