A Fort Worth police motorcycle officer was injured Monday afternoon in a collision between his motorcycle and a car driven by a teenager, police reported.

The wreck was reported about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Camelot Road and Sycamore School Road in far south Fort Worth.

The 16-year-old driver turned in front of the officer, whose motorcycle hit the car on the passenger side, according to a news release from Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman.

The officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Knight said.

The driver was not hurt and got a ticket for failure to yield the right of way, she said.
