KATCH donates to the troops

More than 150 pounds of everyday necessities recently were donated by the Keller Alliance Tennis Charter to U.S. service members in Afghanistan as part of the U.S. Tennis Association's Adopt-A-Unit program.

This is the second year the organization has participated in the program, which is sponsored by grants from Serves, the national charitable foundation of the United States Tennis Association.

The units will also receive portable tennis nets, balls and rackets.

Fashion show benefits foundation

Plans are underway for the annual Garden of Roses Fashion Show, April 6 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Greater Keller Women’s Club will receive proceeds from the event. The club awards grants and scholarships to students in the Northeast Tarrant County area and charitable organizations. Last year’s show raised more than $102,000.

Visit www.gkwc.org for information about the event and foundation. For ticket information email reservations@gkwc.org or Mimi.Catanzaro@verizon.net.
