Fort Worth’s Sy Nutkevitch missed his shootout attempt after Shayne Toporowski gave Quad City the edge, and the Mallards completed a 3-2 win over the Brahmas on Sunday at the i wireless Center in Illinois.

Quad City went ahead 1-0 in the shootout before John Snowden and Brendon Hodge scored the third and fourth times up for the Brahmas, but Anthony Perdicaro and Toporowski offset those goals to preserve the Mallards’ lead before Neil Conway stopped Nutkevitch.

The Brahmas led 1-0 after the first period, but Quad City went ahead with two early goals in the second. Taylor McReynolds tied it late in the second, and the score held until the shootout.
