Two-horse Big 12 race: With two regular-season games remaining in the Big 12, the league title race comes down to Kansas and Kansas State, both 13-3, with Oklahoma State (12-4) holding slim hopes as a spoiler. KU seems to have the easiest road with games vs. Texas Tech and at Baylor. But the Wildcats finish with TCU, and at OSU, a team they beat in their Big 12 opener. The Cowboys have the toughest finish. Before their rematch with KSU, they’re at Iowa State (19-10, 9-7) on Wednesday.
Make or break for Baylor: The Bears (17-12, 8-8 Big 12) saw their hopes of battling for a regular-season title fade weeks ago, but a strong finish could improve their chances for an at-large NCAA Tournament berth . Baylor is at Texas at 8 p.m. Monday and hosts Kansas on Saturday. Without a Big 12 tournament title, a sweep this week appears pertinent for Baylor to have any chance at dancing.
No shoe-in for Hoosiers: No. 1 Indiana finishes the regular season at home against No. 16 Ohio State and at No. 4 Michigan. Indiana won both Big Ten meetings the first time. The Hoosiers are 6-2 over the past month, with losses at Illinois on Feb. 7 and at Minnesota on Tuesday. They beat Iowa 73-60 Saturday behind Cody Zeller’s 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.
